Arizonan Moves from Holland to France

Katie Bailey is no stranger to life and church planting in Europe.  For the past two years, she has lived in Hilversum, about 12 miles drive from the Amsterdam city limits.  In the summer of 2009, Katie plans to join The Bridge team for a minimum of three years, spending her initial year of residence in France learning the French language.

In Hilversum, Katie served on the team that launched Hilversum International Christian Center (HICC) with us and a team of 9 others.  HICC’s grand opening saw more than 300 people, a minor miracle for a church start in Western Europe.  Sebastiaan and Eva van Wessem, our former students at Continental Theological Seminary in Brussels, Belgium, are now leading the church, as Sebastiaan took the lead pastorate in July 2007.

Katie is a graduate of Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington and is also soon to be an ordained minister.  Katie’s home church is First Assembly of God in Chandler, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix where Tom Rakoczy (a friend of Robby’s since his teens) is pastor.

We welcome Katie to The Bridge Team which has now reached 14 adults from Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas and Wisconsin.  You can learn more about Katie on her website, www.katiebailey.wordpress.com
